Rosemary Rehner is a director in the accounting and assurance services department. Her audit experience in public accounting includes both private and public company clients. Prior to joining Barnes Wendling CPAs in 2007, Rosie served as a senior manager in Ernst & Young LLP’s assurance and advisory business services group, working on audits of large public and nonpublic companies in the professional services, manufacturing, distribution, and construction industries. In addition, through hundreds of employee benefit plan audits completed throughout her career, she has gained a proficient understanding of the U.S. GAAP reporting requirements and the requirements established by the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration.

Rosie also has experience in assisting clients with internal controls and has performed both consulting and auditing engagements, including SOC 1® and SOC 2® audits and assistance with the implementation of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Rosie understands the importance of information technology (IT) and has had an active role with the IT portions of financial statement audits since the beginning of her career. She enjoys assisting clients with strengthening their control environments for both financial and IT-related processes.

Rosie is currently serving on the Technical Issues Committee of the AICPA which is comprised of CPA practitioner volunteers working to represent the views of local firms and their clients in the standards-setting process. In addition, she is serving on the North American Region Committee of the MGI Association.
